2001 Classic Results
The Classic is a two day event. Last year we started on Duck Lake 7:00 AM. It was a calm morning, with a mist that held the sun off for just a short time in the morning. Being primarily a smallmouth lake anglers hope for that early topwater smallie bite. By 3:00 PM the scales had the final word, but there were plenty of stories about the day's fishing to be told. Coming in first on Saturday were the "Bear Lake Boys" Dan Chapman and Dan Hamilton. They weighed in 17 lbs. and 10 oz. Day two was a bright sunny day. Cool to be sure in the morning but it was a beautiful day. On day two Don Fowler and Steve Block weighed in 20 lbs. and 5 oz. Some big sacks came in with big bass caught by Ron Fassel a 4-12 smallie. The winners were the "Bear Lake Boys" Dan Chapman and Dan Hamilton with at combined weight of 37 lbs. 12 oz.
